ECC Coordination Meeting with Observer Organizations

Consultation meeting

1 October 2019, Kabul -

ECC commissioners met with number of representatives from observer organizations.  Deputy Chair Mr. Din Mohammad Azimi thanked observer organizations for observing the electoral process. He expressed ECC’s commitment to adjudicate all complaints in an impartial and transparent manner in the presence of representatives of observer groups. ECC will timely share the decisions to the observer groups. ECC Spokesperson Mohammad Qasim Elyasi, shared that the main issue observed during the election day was use of biometric devices and voters list. He believed that depriving people from voting and pre-judgment of candidates is a might jeopardize the electoral justice process.
 

Representatives of observer organizations appreciated the efforts and endeavours of ECC on E-day for registering complaints at PCs and ensured that they will provide the details of their observation, problems and challenges about E-day. 

They expressed their concerns regarding the E-day violations and asked ECC leadership to adjudicate the complaints as per the electoral law in a transparent manner.
