ECC Press Release: End of Appeal Registration Period and Beginning of Adjudication Process

The Electoral Complaints Commission (ECC) organized the press conference today to inform media and electoral stakeholders about beginning of adjudication process. End of Appeal Registration and Beginning of Adjudication Process

According to article 91(4) of Electoral Law, If the complainant or objector have objection over PECC’s decision, they can register their appeal at ECC within three working days after the notification of the decision. The deadline ended yesterday; more than 6200 appeals registered during this period.

After the registration of the appeal cases, the adjudication process will start at the ECC central office. As per the Procedure on Adjudication of Complaints, the rest of the process includes Classification, Review, Investigation, Scrutiny, Decision, Announcement and Implementation of the Decision that will be conducted by the ECC technical team.
According to the article 91(5) of Electoral Law, ECC is obliged to re-review the objected cases based on documents and evidences and make the final decision. In addition, as per article 91(6), ECC shall adjudicate the appeals within 15 working days.
Furthermore, ECC has not made any decision regarding the PECCs decisions.
ECC would like to reiterate to the citizens that the commission is committed to perform its duties and responsibilities as per the Electoral Law and regulations by maintaining impartiality, and independence.
